• Marlon Tabone is a Maltese artist born in Victoria, Malta in 1998 and currently based in London, UK. He completed his Digital Arts Computing degree at Goldsmiths College in 2020 after being awarded a scholarship in 2017.

His work often explores a juxtaposition between permanence and processes related to temporality. A childhood fascination with archaeology has heavily influenced his work and practice, leading to a recurring exploration of the monumental.

As a Maltese artist, Tabone's works frequently address subjects and themes related to his identity, which plays a crucial and informative role in his practice. His academic background in Maltese political history and international relations, acquired through studies at the University of Malta, further reinforces and highlights this connection.

The use of digital mixed media, automated processes, randomness and an evocation of a sense of detachment and loss of control characterises his works. These characteristics are residual and informed from the artist’s professional trade as a computer programmer.
